EKTT Weekly Treasury Challenge: Gardening or The Butcher

The winner of our latest weekly treasury challenge, SquishyBee on Etsy, wants to take us out into the garden!  While we're on the topic of food--let's head to the butcher's shop too! 


Gardening and Food
Focus Items:  garden tools, plant markers, composting solutions, gloves, scrubs, seeds, plantable papers, organic methods, farmers markets, organic meats and dairy, dairy farm, cheese artisans, seasonality, planting calendars, tips, recipes, vintage industrial farming references, glass domes, terrariums, air plants, window herbs, succulents, planters

The Butcher
Focus items:  the butcher, organic meats, cuts of meat, diagrams, butcher paper and knives, bacon, aprons, vintage industrial farming references, the outdoor kitchen, grilling options, unisex, men-centric


1.  Submit as many treasuries fitting these themes in as many variations as you wish through Saturday, April 9, 12:00 Noon EST. 

NOTE:  You MUST be a member of the EKTT to participate in Weekly Treasury Challenges!

Please see the updated EKTT Check List to curate according to guidelines.  Only one feature of your partner is required this month.   New guidelines for 2 of your treasuries:  Feature any 2 EKTT Curators (see blog sidebar for active curator links) plus any 2 (non-EKTT) EtsyKids Team members. 

4.  The winning treasury will be chosen by Random.org.  The treasuries will receive a number from first submission to last and Random.org will pick a number from these.

EKTT Weekly Treasury Challenge: Spring Holidays or Red Riding Hood

The winner of our latest weekly treasury challenge, SquishyBee on Etsy, wants to celebrate Spring Holidays with the EtsyKids Treasury Team!  To add a new dimension to this week's challenge let's head to the movies:  HOP opens April 1st and Red Riding Hood is already a trending topic for April's Merchandising Report.  We've already had one EKTT treasury make the front page of Etsy for the movie theme Red Riding Hood--let's curate more for Etsy's home page!


April Fools' Day, Easter, or Mother's Day
Focus Items:  April Fools treasuries will focus on practical jokes, gag gifts, and silly handmade and vintage items...tickle our funny bones!  Easter and Mother's Day treasuries will be tagged with these dates:  Mothering Sunday, April 3; Easter, April 24; and Mother's Day, May 8.  Mother's Day or Mothering Sunday:  personalization options, pampering, jewelry, creative framing and photo displays, gadget accessories, flower and bud vases, planters, home decor, and cards for Mother's Day, spring gardening, flowers, spring fashion basics in lighter materials, open-toe shoes, sunglasses, and hair accessories.   Easter:  HOP the movie (click to see trailer),  bright and pastel colors, bunnies, rabbits, eggs, baskets, candy, toys, children's spring formal attire, and religious mementos.

OR

Little Red Riding Hood
Focus Items:  Red Riding Hood (click for more information on the movie and to see the trailer), forestry, red capes, wolves, werewolves, the moon (blood moon), young love, legends and dark fairytales.



1.  Submit as many treasuries fitting these themes in as many variations as you wish through Saturday, April 2, 7:00 p.m. EST. NOTE:  You MUST be a member of the EKTT to participate in Weekly Treasury Challenges!

"Etsy's Euro Week" Treasury Challenge Winner: SquishyBee

Congratulations to Cortney of SquishyBee on Etsy on her win of the Euro Week treasury challenge!  Cortney's treasury, "A Paris Wedding" received the most views of any of our treasury submissions on Etsy!

EKTT Weekly Treasury Challenge: Etsy's Euro Week & Spring Holidays

The winner of our latest weekly treasury challenge, felted kitten on Etsy, wants to honor Etsy's Euro Week 2011 and Spring Holidays!  I am positive you creative EKTT curators will come up with inventive ways to combine April Fools' Day or Easter or Mother's Day with Etsy's Euro Week celebration.

March 21 through March 27 Etsy celebrates European art and artists of Etsy with
home pages full of products from Europe!  Read all about it HERE!
Focus Items:  Check out featured shops HERE and from the blog post highlighted above or use geographic search to find your own European shops to feature.  Tag treasuries "EtsyEuro."  Think stripey French shirts, European maps and objects made of them, London, Scotland, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland...focus on one particular region or combine all of Europe!  (Note:  EtsyKids Team items do not have to originate in Europe but may honor European flavor in either style or perhaps a European flag.)

OR   

April Fools' Day, Easter, or Mother's Day
Focus Items:  April Fools treasuries will focus on practical jokes, gag gifts, and silly handmade and vintage items...tickle our funny bones!  Easter and Mother's Day treasuries will be tagged with these dates:  Mothering Sunday, April 3; Easter, April 24; and Mother's Day, May 8.  Think spring gardening, flowers, and spring fashion basics in lighter materials, open-toe shoes, sunglasses, hair accessories and jewelry, and home decor.  Natural history and bright pops of spring color are very appropriate for these treasuries.

EKTT Weekly Treasury Challenge: St. Patty's & Spring

The winner of our latest weekly treasury challenge, Bison Girl on Etsy, wants to celebrate St. Patty's Day and SPRING!  Keep in mind that St. Patrick's Day is Thursday, March 17th, and Spring treasuries will be in use all month long on Etsy's home page.  Mix it up, EKTT, why not make a treasury fitting both themes?    


Saint Patrick's Day PAR-TAY!
Focus Items:  parties, celebrations, March 17, parades, touches of green, shamrocks, feasting, kitchen decor and accessories, hostess gifts, beer drinking,  and a nod to the Irish!

OR

Spring Fling!
Focus Items:  SPRING BREAK week, spring equinox, spring cleaning, spring fashion, spring planting, rejuvenation, fresh outlook, and light, bright color.  March birthstone:  Aquamarine.  Colors:  bright pops of color in pinks, turquoise, yellows, avocado, peach, orange.  Earth tones and neutrals coupled with rusts, deep greens, brown.  


1.  Submit as many treasuries fitting these themes in as many variations as you wish through FRIDAY, March 18, 5:00 p.m. CST.  (The winning treasury will be blogged on Saturday this week, followed by a Sunday blog of the Weekly Treasury Challenge as we are preparing for the 2nd installment of the EtsyKids Photo Makeover Series to be posted on Monday, March 21.)
